Badur adalah sejenis ikan kakap yang berasal dari wilayah Samudra Hindia dan Pasifik barat. Ikan ini bisa ditemukan mulai dari Maladewa,[1] Jepang,[2] Indonesia,[3] pesisir utara Australia,[4] sampai Samoa dan Tonga.[5][6][7][8] Ikan dewasanya bisa mencapai panjang total 28 sentimeter (11 in).[9] Ikan ini hidup di daerah terumbu karang beriklim tropis di kedalaman antara 8–50 meter (26–164 ft).[6] Di sebagian daerah di Indonesia, ikan ini dikenal dengan nama seperti Sala atau Sasageh. Di Australia ikan ini dikenal dengan nama Yellowlined snapper (kakap bergaris kuning) atau Goldenlined snapper (kakap bergaris emas) sementara di Filipina dikenal dengan nama Alsis atau Managat.
