Detritus

Dalam biologi, detritus adalah bahan organik dari partikulat mati, yang dibedakan dari bahan organik terlarut. Detritus biasanya mencakup tubuh atau fragmen tubuh organisme mati, dan kotoran lainnya. Detritus menjadi penampung komunitas dan koloni mikroorganisme pembusuk dan pengurai. Pada ekosistem darat, detritus biasanya berupa serasah daun dan bahan organik lainnya yang bercampur dengan tanah, yang sering disebut sebagai “bahan organik tanah”. Detritus ekosistem akuatik adalah bahan organik yang tersuspensi di dalam air dan terakumulasi dalam pengendapan di dasar badan air.
