Diastella adalah genus yang mencakup tujuh spesies tumbuhan berbunga, yang umumnya dikenal sebagai "silkypuff", dalam keluarga protea. Namanya berasal dari bahasa Yunani diastellein yang berarti “memisahkan”, merujuk pada lobus periantium yang bebas – tanaman ini dibedakan dari leucospermum yang berkerabat dekat dan serupa karena memiliki empat segmen periantium yang bebas. Genus ini endemik di Wilayah Floristik Tanjung di Afrika Selatan, di mana ia memiliki sebaran yang sangat terbatas dan diasosiasikan dengan habitat fynbos. Semua spesiesnya merupakan perdu kecil.[1] Sebagian besar spesiesnya merupakan spesies terancam.[2]
