Dusting attack atau dust attack adalah serangan terhadap dompet mata uang kripto dengan cara mengirimkan sejumlah kecil aset kripto yang disebut dust ke dompet tersebut. Tujuannya adalah untuk membantu mengungkap identitas pemilik dompet.[1] Informasi yang diperoleh kemudian dapat digunakan untuk mengganggu penerimaan pembayaran yang sah atau dimanfaatkan dalam aksi phishing.[2]

Korban menerima token yang dikirim ke dompet mereka melalui mekanisme airdrop.[3]

Ketika korban mencoba mencairkan atau menukarkan token tersebut, pengirim dapat memperoleh akses ke dompet melalui smart contract yang terhubung dengan token itu.[4]
