Eric Richard Kandel (lahir 7 November 1929) ialah seorang psikiater dan ilmuwan saraf Amerika Serikat, juga profesor biokimia dan biofisika di Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York. Ia menjadi dikenal secara internasional pada tahun 2000 atas Penghargaan Nobel dalam Fisiologi atau Kedokteran yang diterimanya atas pengamatannya pada kerja memori pada tingkatan molekuler. Ia membagi penghargaan itu bersama Arvid Carlsson dan Paul Greengard. Berlawanan dengan pengetahuan umum, Kandel bukanlah psikiater pertama yang menerima Hadiah Nobel Kedokteran, melainkan Julius Wagner-Jauregg.

Pada tahun 2006 Kandel menerbitkan autobiografinya In Search of Memory: The Emergence of a New Science of Mind. Sebuah buku ajar di mana Kandel menjadi salah satu penulisnya adalah Principles of Neural Science (edisi pertama terbit tahun 1981).
