FLARE U (bahasa Korea: 플레어유) adalah grup idola duo pria asal Korea Selatan yang dibentuk oleh agensi FNC Entertainment. Grup ini terdiri dari dua anggota: Chuei Li Yu dan Kang Woo Jin, yang keduanya merupakan mantan kontestan dari program acara kompetisi Mnet, Boys II Planet. FLARE U resmi memulai debut mereka pada tanggal 13 Mei 2026 dengan merilis album mini pertama mereka yang bertajuk Youth Error.[1]
Sejarah
Pra-debut: Boys II Planet
Sebelum pembentukan grup, Chuei Li Yu dan Kang Woo Jin berpartisipasi sebagai kontestan dalam acara pencarian bakat milik Mnet, Boys II Planet, pada tahun 2025. Meskipun mereka tidak berhasil masuk ke dalam delapan besar untuk menduduki posisi grup pemenang utama, popularitas dan ikatan persahabatan mereka di acara tersebut menarik perhatian agensi FNC Entertainment.[2] Agensi kemudian memutuskan untuk menyatukan keduanya ke dalam proyek unit duo baru bernama FLARE U.
2026: Debut dengan Youth Error
Pada tanggal 13 Mei 2026, FLARE U secara resmi merilis album mini debut mereka yang berjudul Youth Error bersamaan dengan video musik untuk lagu utama yang berjudul "WAY 2 U".[3] Teks lagu utama tersebut mengusung genre hybrid pop yang menceritakan tentang keberanian untuk mengungkapkan perasaan cinta.

Pre-debut: Boys II Planet
Prior to the duo's formation, Chuei Li Yu and Kang Woo Jin participated as contestants on Mnet's survival audition program Boys II Planet in 2025. Although they did not place in the top eight to make the final debut lineup of the show, their immense popularity and strong onscreen chemistry caught the attention of FNC Entertainment.[1] The agency later announced plans to debut the two under a project duo unit named FLARE U.
2026: Debut with Youth Error
On May 13, 2026, FLARE U officially released their debut EP, Youth Error, alongside the music video for its lead single, "WAY 2 U".[2] The title track is a hybrid pop song that conveys the courage to confess feelings of love that unexpectedly grow out of a friendship.
