Selama Perang Dunia II, Fall Rot (Kasus Merah) rencananya untuk tahap kedua dari penaklukan Prancis oleh Tentara Jerman dan dimulai pada 5 Juni 1940. Hal ini telah dimungkinkan dengan keberhasilan Fall Gelb (Kasus Kuning), invasi negara Benelux dan utara Prancis dalam Pertempuran Prancis dan pengepungan tentara Sekutu di utara pantai Channel. Pasukan yang kuat juga untuk maju ke Prancis.[1]
Fall Rot (Kasus Merah) terdiri dari dua sub-operasi, awal serangan di barat dimulai pada tanggal 5 Juni, di atas sungai Somme dalam arah Seine dan serangan utama oleh Grup Angkatan Darat A yang dimulai pada 9 Juni di tengah sungai Aisne.[1]
