Gotha adalah kota yang berada di Distrik Gotha, Thüringen, Jerman. Kota ini berpenduduk 46.497 jiwa.

Sejarah

Kota ini dikenal pertama kali dari Breviarium Lulli karya Lullus sejak abad ke-9. Atas dasar itulah, diperkirakan kota ini berdiri pada tahun 775. Pada tahun 1640, Gotha menjadi ibu kota Kadipaten Sachsen-Gotha, 40 tahun kemudian menjadi ibu kota Sachsen-Gotha-Altenburg dan pada tahun 1826 ibu kota Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha. Pada tahun 1920, Gotha masuk negara bagian Thüringen. Atlas terkenal di dunia, Stielers Handatlas diproduksi di kota ini.
