Sejarah

Indre adalah salah satu dari 83 departemen asli yang tercipta selama Revolusi Prancis pada 4 Maret 1790. Departemen ini dibentuk dari bekas provinsi Berry.

Geografi

Indre adalah bagian dari region Centre (Val de Loire) dan dikelilingi oleh departemen Indre et Loire, Loir et Cher, Cher, Creuse, dan Vienne.
