Martin Cooper (lahir 26 Desember 1928) adalah seorang insinyur Amerika Serikat yang dijuluki sebagai pelopor industri komunikasi nirkabel.[1] Ia merupakan orang pertama yang melakukan panggilan telepon menggunakan telepon genggam seluler pada tahun 1973.[2]
Karier di Motorola
Cooper mulai bekerja di Motorola pada tahun 1954.[3] Pencapaian terbesarnya terjadi pada 3 April 1973, ketika ia melakukan panggilan telepon nirkabel pertama di dunia menggunakan purwarupa Motorola DynaTAC di hadapan publik di New York.[4] Ia memimpin tim yang merancang telepon genggam pertama tersebut hanya dalam waktu 90 hari.
