Memex
Memex (singkatan dari "memory extender", walau kadang dianggap singkatan "memory" dan "index"[1]), adalah nama yang diberikan oleh Vannevar Bush untuk sebuah mesin teoretis yang ia usulkan dalam artikelnya As We May Think, yang dimuat pada tahun 1945 pada The Atlantic Monthly. Memex disebut-sebut sebagai pionir dari teknologi hiperteks yang muncul kemudian.
Memex menjadi mesin pencari khusus Dark Web,[2] yang dikembangkan oleh lembaga peneliti Departemen Pertahanan Amerika Serikat bernama Defence Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA).[3]
