Mesianisme adalah kepercayaan pada kedatangan seorang mesias yang bertindak sebagai penyelamat atau pembebas dari sekelompok orang.[1] Mesianisme aslinya adalah sebagai salah satu kepercayaan dalam agama Abrahamik, tetapi agama-agama lain memiliki konsep yang berhubungan dengan mesianisme. Agama dengan konsep mesias meliputi Zoroastrianisme (Saoshyant), Judaisme (Mashiach), Buddhisme (Maitreya), Hinduisme (Kalki), Taoisme (Li Hong), dan Bábisme.
