Musik tema

Musik tema (bahasa Inggris: theme music) adalah bagian yang sering ditulis khusus untuk acara radio, acara televisi, permainan video atau film, dan biasanya dimainkan selama intro, kredit pembuka dan/atau kredit penutup.[1] Musik tema berbeda dengan lagu tema karena tidak ada nyanyian.

Lagu tema atau disebut juga jalur suara (bahasa Inggris: theme song, soundtrack) juga dapat merujuk pada lagu terkenal yang telah menjadi terutama terkait dengan penyanyi atau pejabat tertentu; sering digunakan saat mereka membuat pintu masuk. Tujuan sebuah lagu tema sering kali mirip dengan leitmotif. Lagu semacam itu juga bisa digunakan dengan cara lain. Seorang penulis telah memanfaatkannya secara luas dalam upaya untuk menjelajah perasaan di balik pandangan dunia.[2]
