Payus (bahasa Inggris : ladyfish) adalah kumpulan ikan bersirip pari dalam keluarga Elopidae yang mengandung satu genus hidup yaitu Elops. Namanya berasal dari bahasa Yunani ellops yaitu sejenis ular.[1]
Ikan dalam keluarga Elopidae hidup di pesisir lautan atau muara dan ditemukan di seluruh wilayah tropis dan subtropis, kadang-kadang ikan ini menjelajah ke perairan beriklim sedang.[3] Pemijahan terjadi di laut, di mana jentik ikan bermigrasi ke daratan memasuki perairan payau. Makanannya adalah ikan kecil dan krustasea (udang). Ukuran maksimumnya di seluruh spesies adalah 1 m (3,3 ft) dan berat maksimum 10 kg (22 pon). Tubuhnya berbentuk gelendong meruncing dan penampangnya lonjong; dengan tubuh sedikit pepat ke samping. Matanya berukuran besar.
