Puputan
Puputan (Aksara Bali: ᬧᬸᬧᬸᬢᬦ᭄) adalah istilah dalam bahasa Bali yang mengacu pada ritual serangan bunuh diri massal[1] yang dilakukan saat perang daripada harus menyerah kepada musuh. Istilah ini berasal dari kata bahasa Bali "puput" yang artinya "selesai" / "putus" / "habis / "mati".
Puputan yang terkenal di Bali adalah Puputan Jagaraga, dilakukan oleh Kerajaan Buleleng melawan pasukan kolonial Belanda setelah Raja Buleleng memberlakukan sistem tawan karang (menahan seluruh kapal asing yang berlabuh di dermaga Buleleng) terhadap kapal-kapal dagang Belanda, dan Puputan Margarana yang dipimpin oleh seorang serdadu Dewan Perjoeangan Republik Indonesia Sunda Kecil (DPRI SK) kelahiran Bali bernama I Gusti Ngurah Rai untuk melawan aksi militer kolonial Belanda.
