Qari

Qari' (qāriʾ, bahasa Arab: قَارِئ, jamak قُرَّاء qurrāʾ, "pembaca") adalah orang yang melantunkan bacaan Al-Quran dengan mentaati aturan-aturan (tajwīd) yang benar. [1]
Ada beberapa kesalahan umum yang menganggap qari haruslah menjadi Hafidz atau penghafal Al-Quran terlebih dahulu. Seorang qari tidak harus menjadi penghafal Al-Quran, tetapi hanya menjadi pelantun bacaan Al-Quran yang menerapkan aturan dalam ilmu tajwid dengan benar, walaupun akan lebih mengesankan dan menjadi nilai tambah apabila seorang qari juga adalah seorang Hafiz sebelum ia menjadi qari.[butuh rujukan]

Title used before people's names in Afghanistan. It refers to the practice/skill of being a Qari' (Arabic loan-word) which literally means someone who is able to recite the Qur'an.
