Red Star OS (Hangul: 붉은별; MR: Pulgŭnbyŏl) merupakan sistem operasi berbasis Linux buatan Korea Utara. Pengembangan sistem operasi ini dimulai pada tahun 2002 di Pusat Komputer Korea dan hingga 2010 telah mencapai versi 3.0. Sistem operasi ini hanya tersedia dalam bahasa Korea yang disesuaikan dengan terminologi dan ejaan yang berlaku di Korea Utara.[1]
Rincian teknis
Sistem operasi yang dibuat berdasarkan sistem antarmuka pengguna KDE 3.x ini memiliki aplikasi peramban web mirip Mozilla Firefox, Naenara, yang digunakan untuk membuka portal web Naenara yang tersedia di jaringan intranet Korea Utara, Kwangmyong. Aplikasi yang lain meliputi penyunting teks, klien surat elektronik, pemutar audio dan video, serta beberapa permainan.[2]
Persyaratan sistem minimum yang diperlukan untuk menjalankan Red Star OS adalah:[2]
- Prosesor Pentium III 800 Mhz
- RAM 256MB
- Ruang kosong pada cakram keras sebesar 3 GB
