Sehima adalah genus tumbuhan yang sebagian besar ditemukan di Asia dan Afrika dalam keluarga rumput (Poaceae).[2][3]
Nama generiknya berasal dari bahasa Arab سحيم sæḥīm ('hitam'), nama lokal untuk spesies tipe di negara asalnya, Yaman.[2]
