Zondo-kommissie

Adjunkhoofregter Raymond Zondo is op 17 Mei 2019 aan die hoof van die geregtelike kommissie van ondersoek na bewerings van staatskaping soos dit regstreeks op TV gestroom is.

Die Geregtelike Kommissie van Ondersoek na Bewerings van Staatskaping, Korrupsie en Bedrog in die Openbare Sektor insluitend Staatsorgane, beter bekend as die Zondo-kommissie of Staatskapingskommissie, is 'n openbare ondersoek wat in Januarie 2018 deur oudpresident Jacob Zuma ingestel is om bewerings te ondersoek van staatskaping, korrupsie en bedrog in die openbare sektor in Suid-Afrika.[1][2]

Teen Desember 2020 het die kommissie 278 getuies ondervra en 159 109 bladsye en een eksagreep data as bewyse ingesamel.[3] Dit het agt verlengings ontvang om sy verslag te voltooi, met 15 Junie 2022 wat die einde van sy mandaat was.[4] Die eerste deel van die verslag is op 4 Januarie 2022 gepubliseer.[5][6] Die vyfde en laaste deel is op 22 Junie 2022 gepubliseer.[7] Dit het die staat byna R1 miljard gekos, baie meer as enige vorige Suid-Afrikaanse geregtelike ondersoek.[8]
