Against the Wind (englisch für „Gegen den Wind“) ist ein Lied der britischen Sängerin Bonnie Tyler, das im November 1991 erschien.

Entstehung und Veröffentlichung

Das Lied wurde alleine von Dieter Bohlen getextet, komponiert sowie produziert.[1] Als Koproduzent stand ihm Luis Rodriguez zur Seite.[2]

Die Erstveröffentlichung von Against the Wind erfolgte am 11. November 1991 bei Hansa Records, als Teil von Tylers achten Studioalbums Bitterblue (Katalognummer: 282 142). Im Folgemonat wurde das Lied als zweite Single aus dem Album ausgekoppelt. Diese erschien als 7″-Single mit dem „Radio Mix“ und einem Instrumental (Katalognummer: 114 991) sowie als 12″-Maxi-Single, die um eine erweiterte Fassung des Liedes ergänzt wurde (Katalognummer: 614 991).[1]

Against the Wind diente als Soundtrack vom Tatort: Der Fall Schimanski.[3] Mit dem Lied erfolgte unter anderem ein Liveauftritt als Neuvorstellung in der ZDF-Hitparade am 11. Dezember 1991.[4]

Inhalt

Das Lied handelt von der Sehnsucht nach Liebe und die Einsamkeit eines Mannes, der gegen die Schwierigkeiten des Lebens („Against the Wind“) ankämpft.[5]
