Alainodaeus ist eine Gattung der Rundkrabben mit sieben rezenten Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln den Schelf und den Kontinentalhang in Tiefen zwischen 35 und 573 m im zentralen und östlichen Indopazifik.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 24 mm lang, oval, etwa 1,4-mal so breit wie lang. Die Region 2M ist ungeteilt oder maximal im vorderen Viertel durch eine seichte Rinne unterteilt. Die Region 4M ist undeutlich. Der vordere Seitenrand ist mit vier Zähnen bewehrt. Der Merus des letzten Schreitbeins ist viermal so lang wie breit. Der sechste Somit des Pleons ist breiter als lang und üblicherweise quer-rechteckig. Das erste Gonopodium hat im Bereich der körpernahen zwei Drittel einen konvexen Ausläufer, das letzte Drittel verjüngt sich stark.[2]
