Anomalothir ist eine Gattung der Krabben aus der Familie Inachidae mit drei Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln den Schelf und den Kontinentalhang in Tiefen zwischen 50 und 293 m in der gemäßigten Klimazone des Nordwestatlantiks, im tropischen Westatlantik und im tropischen Ostpazifik.[2.1]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 20 mm lang und ohne Dornen. Das Rostrum (mittiger Stirnfortsatz) besteht aus zwei schmaler werdenden Dornen, die größtenteils eng aneinander liegen, nach unten gebogen sind, an den Seiten stachlige Dornen tragen und länger als die halbe Carapaxlänge sind. Der Überaugenvorsprung hat einen kleinen vor der Augenhöhle gelegenen (präorbitalen) Dorn. Die Augenstiele sind kurz. Die Schreitbeine sind länger als der Carapax, die ersten beiden länger als die beiden hinteren Paare.[2.1]

Systematik

Die Gattung ist keiner der Unterfamilien zugeordnet, die Untergliederung der Inachidae in Unterfamilien ist aber sowieso umstritten.[2.2] Sie umfasst folgende Arten:[1]
