Ashtoret ist eine Gattung der Mondkrabben mit acht Arten.[1] Sie kommen von der Gezeitenzone bis zum Schelf in Tiefen bis 50 m im gemäßigten Nordwestpazifik und im Indopazifik vor.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax von Ashtoret wird bis zu 66 mm lang. Der Seitendorn ist gut entwickelt. Die Antennulengrube geht mit mehreren Reihen länglicher Höcker in die Augenhöhlen-Pterygostom-Region über. Der Einströmkanal der Kiemenkammer ist gebogen. Die Außenfläche der Schere (Chela) trägt auf der Mitte der Hand einen Kamm mit Höckern, der parallel zum Unterrand verläuft. Der Kamm auf der Außenfläche des Fingers (Dactylus) ist geriffelt oder glatt. Der Oberrand des Carpus des vorletzten Schreitbeins (P4) trägt zwei Kiele.[2]
