Azete sind ungesättigte chemische Verbindungen, die als Strukturelement einen viergliedrigen Ring mit einem Stickstoffatom besitzen. Sie gehören der Klasse der Heterocyclen, nicht jedoch der Heteroaromaten an. Ihr einfachster Vertreter, das Azet, repräsentiert das Stammsystem. Das carbocyclische Analogon ist Cyclobutadien.

Grundkörper

Der Grundkörper Azet ist extrem instabil und hochreaktiv (Antiaromat) und nur von theoretischer Relevanz.[1] Gemäß computerbasierter Vorhersagen ist es allerdings etwas stabiler als Cyclobutadien.[2]

Stabilisierte Vertreter

Andere Vertreter sind thermodynamisch oder kinetisch stabilisiert und teilweise isolierbar. Beispiele für ersteres sind Tris(dimethylamino)azet oder an Phenylringe anellierte Azetringe. Kinetische Stabilisierung basiert auf voluminösen Substituenten wie beim Tri-tert-butylazet.[2] Dieses kann durch Ringerweiterung aus Tri-tert-butylcyclopropenylazid hergestellt werden.[3]
