Badgam (auch Budgam) ist eine Stadt (Municipal Committee) im Westen des indischen Unionsterritoriums Jammu und Kashmir.

Sie bildet den Verwaltungssitz des gleichnamigen Distrikts. Beim Zensus 2011 lag die Einwohnerzahl bei 15.338.[2] In der Stadt leben knapp 83 % Muslime und 13,5 % Hindus.[2]

Die Stadt Badgam liegt im Kaschmirtal am südlichen Stadtrand von Srinagar auf einer Höhe von 1624 m. Der Flughafen Srinagar liegt östlich von Badgam. Ca. 3 km nördlich des Stadtzentrums befindet sich der Bahnhof von Badgam an der Eisenbahnstrecke Baramulla–Srinagar.

Die Stadt Badgam ist in 14 Wards aufgeteilt.[2]

Klima

Das Klima in Badgam ist mild und moderat. Die höchsten Regenfälle finden in der Regel im März und April statt. Der durchschnittliche Jahresniederschlag beträgt 743 mm. Die Jahresmitteltemperatur liegt bei 13,6 °C.
