Banregio (Banco Regional, S.A.) ist ein mexikanisches Finanzinstitut mit Hauptsitz in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León.

Das Unternehmen beschäftigt mit Stand 2022 über 5.000 Mitarbeiter und betreut zehntausende Geschäftskunden in mehr als 150 Filialen.[1]

Geschichte

Banregio wurde im Jahr 1994 in Monterrey gegründet wurde, um das damals vernachlässigte Segment der kleinen und mittelständischen Unternehmen zu bedienen.[1][2]

In den folgenden Jahrzehnten entwickelte sich das Unternehmen von einer regionalen Bank im Norden Mexikos zu einem nationalen Kreditinstitut.[2]

2011 erfolgte ein Börsengang an der Bolsa Mexicana de Valores.[3][4]

Im Jahr 2018 wurde die Holdinggesellschaft in „Regional“ umbenannt und die bestehenden Marken weiter erhalten.[5]
