Batouri ist die Hauptstadt des Départements Kadey in Kamerun, mit 31.683 Einwohnerern (2005).[1] Zusammen mit ihrem Umland bildet sie die gleichnamige Commune (Arrondissement).[2]

Geografie

Sie liegt in der Region Est, im Osten des Landes auf einer Höhe von 617 Metern. Die Gemeinde liegt 50 Kilometer vor der Grenze zur Zentralafrikanischen Republik.

In Batouri gibt es ein tropisches Savannenklima (Klassifikation nach Köppen).

Die Gemeinde liegt an der Nationalstraße N10. Es gibt auch einen Flugplatz.

Bevölkerung

In der Volkszählung von 2005 umfasste die Commune 67.007 Einwohner, wobei 31.683 in der Stadt selbst wohnten und der Rest in Dörfern um die Stadt.[2]
