Calmania ist eine Gattung der Krabben, sie ist die einzige in der Unterfamilie Calmaniinae und enthält fünf Arten.[1] Sie bewohnen den Schelf in Tiefen zwischen 0 und 190 m im westlichen und zentralen Indopazifik, vor allem tropischen Riffe zwischen Geröll und Steinchen.[2]

Merkmale

Calmania wird bis zu 7 mm lang. Der Carapax ist quadratisch bis längsoval. Die Stirn steht zwischen den Augenhöhlen nur sehr wenig hervor und ist mit einem Saum langer Borsten besetzt. Die Carapax-Oberfläche ist ebenfalls mit Borstenbüscheln bedeckt. Die Antennulen falten sich schräg vorwärts. Die Scheren (Chelae) lassen bei Schluss körpernah eine Lücke offen, deren Rand ebenfalls dichte Borstenbüschel aufweist. Die Schreitbeine (P2 bis P5) haben keine Dactylus-Propodus-Arretierung.[2]
