Dadurch ergibt sich eine Bevölkerungsdichte von 587 Einwohnern pro km². Ein großer Teil der Bevölkerung lebt von der Landwirtschaft und vom Fischfang. Candon besitzt wie Vigan einige alte spanische Häuser und Kirchen.
