Cherusius ist eine Gattung der Krabben aus der Familie Domeciidae mit einer rezenten und drei fossilen Arten.[1] Die rezente Art besiedelt die Gezeitenzone und den Schelf in Tiefen zwischen 0 und 95 m im Indopazifik und im tropischen Ostpazifik. Sie sind Symbionten bei Flachwasser-Steinkorallen.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 3,7 mm lang. Der Stirnrand ist glatt. Der vordere Seitenrand ist mit kurzen, stumpfen Zähnen bewehrt. Der Merus des dritten Maxillipeden ist 1,3-mal so breit wie lang. Die Scherenbeine sind asymmetrisch, ihr Propodus ist mit runden Höckern besetzt.[2]

Systematik

Die einzige rezente Art ist Cherusius triunguiculatus (Borradaile, 1902).[1]
