Cosmonotus ist eine Gattung der Krabben mit drei rezenten Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln den Schelf und den Kontinentalhang in Tiefen zwischen 30 und 369 m in der gemäßigten Klimazone des Nordwestpazifiks sowie den westlichen und zentralen Indopazifik.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax wird bis zu 14 mm lang, ist vorn schmal und im Querschnitt V-förmig. Die Rückenseite trägt einen mittigen Kamm. Ein Rostrum fehlt, die Stirn hat einen mittigen V-förmigen Einschnitt. Die Augenstiele sind verlängert, sie sind etwa die halbe Carapaxbreite lang. Der Finger des vorletzten Schreitbeins ist spitz.[2]
