Cryptochirus ist eine Gattung der Gallkrabben mit zwei Arten.[1] Sie bewohnen die Gezeitenzone und den Kontinentalhang in Tiefen bis zu 30 m im Indopazifik.[2] Sie sind wie alle Gallkrabben obligate Symbionten bei Steinkorallen.[3]

Merkmale

Cryptochirus wird bis zu 4 mm lang. Der Carapax ist in der Mitte am breitesten und vorn gewölbt. Die mesogastrische Region ist aufgetrieben und dicht mit Höckern besetzt. Die vordere Verlängerung des vierten thorakalen Sterniten ist ebenfalls mit Höckern besetzt.[2]
