  • in der Medizin die scheinbare oder tatsächliche Längenzunahme eines Blutgefäßes mit entsprechend geschlängeltem Verlauf, beispielsweise die Elongation der Aorta descendens
  • in der Physik (Akustik) die gegenwärtige Auslenkung einer Schwingung aus seiner Ruhelage
  • in der Zahnmedizin die echte oder scheinbare Verlängerung eines Zahnes durch „Herauswachsen“ aus dem Zahnfach
