Eriphia ist eine Gattung der Krabben. Die Vertreter kommen, mit Ausnahme der Polarmeere, weltweit vor. Sie bewohnen die Gezeitenzone zwischen der Hoch- und Niedrigwasserlinie (intertidal) und den angrenzenden Schelfbereich (subtidal).[1]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist sechseckig, in der hinteren Hälfte am breitesten. Die Maximallänge beträgt 57 mm. Der hintere Seitenrand ist gerade bis konvex. Die Rückenregionen sind markant, im vorderen Bereich trägt die Rückenfläche Höcker. Der Stirnrand ist breiter als ein Viertel der Carapax-Breite. Die Antennen stehen näher zur Augenhöhle als zur Mittellinie. Die beiden Scheren (Chelae) sind unterschiedlich groß, die kleinere hat spitze Finger.[1]
