Eucrate ist eine Gattung der Krabben innerhalb der Familie Euryplacidae mit acht Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln Gezeitenzone, Schelf und Kontinentalhang in Tiefen zwischen 1 und 500 m im westlichen und zentralen Indopazifik sowie in der gemäßigten Klimazone Australiens im Bereich des Südens des Bundesstaates Queensland.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 38 mm lang und etwas breiter als lang. Der vordere Seitenrand ist konvex, ein äußerer Augenhöhlenwinkel nicht vorhanden. Der erste Zahn ist stumpf, der zweite mehr vorstehend bis spitz, der dritte klein und stumpf. Die Augenhöhle ist kürzer als die Stirn. Der Augenstiel ist deutlich kürzer als die Stirn und nur wenig länger als die Cornea.[2]

Innerhalb der Gattung werden folgende rezente Arten unterschieden:[1]

Synonyme sind Cancer (Eucrate) De Haan, 1835, Pilumnoplax Stimpson, 1858 und Pseudorhombila (Pilumnoplax) Stimpson, 1858.[1]
