Leben
Fat Papi wurde in Neuseeland geboren. Er identifiziert sich selbst als Kurde und verwendet die Bezeichnung Aotearoa für sein Heimatland. 2025 veröffentlichte der Anfang der 2000er geborene Rapper die EP Simplicity.[1]
Bekannt wurde er international durch den Hit Freaked Out, den er zusammen mit dem Produzenten Prodsushy veröffentlichte. Das Lied entstand für TikTok und ist in verschiedenen Geschwindigkeiten erhältlich. Am Anfang des Songs gibt es eine Textzeile, die „get that bag“ lautete, aber auf Grund einer unsauberen Aussprache und verschiedenen Abspielgeschwindigkeiten als „get the bob“ missverstanden wurde. Dies wiederum nahm TikTok-Creator Jocelyn Meiere, auch bekannt als Miss Diva Bob und Bob Girl für eines ihrer populärsten Videos, das 18 Millionen Views erreichte. So ging der Song viral und Fat Papi nahm die Interpretation gerne an.[1]
Das Lied erreichte die Charts in mehreren Ländern und wurde ein internationaler Top-Hit.
