Four Mile Bridge (walisisch Pontrhydybont, Pont-rhydbont oder Pontrhypont) ist ein Dorf zu beiden Seiten der Cymyran Strait, der schmalen Meerenge zwischen der walisischen Insel Anglesey und der dieser vorgelagerten Insel Holy Island. Das Dorf hat seinen Namen von der gleichnamigen ältesten und lange Zeit einzigen Brücke zwischen den beiden Inseln, die auf der damaligen Straße vier Meilen von Holyhead entfernt war.[1]

Die seit 1530 existierende Brücke[2] ist heute ein unscheinbarer, rund 150 m langer Steindamm. Er trägt die zweispurige B4545 mit beiderseitigen schmalen Gehwegen. Ein etwa 6 m breiter Durchlass ermöglicht den Ausgleich der Gezeitenströmung.

Die Brücke verlor ihre überörtliche Bedeutung mit dem von Thomas Telford geplanten und 1823 eröffneten Stanley Embankment,[3] mit dem eine kürzere Verbindung für seine neue Straße von Holyhead nach London geschaffen wurde. Seitdem wurde das Stanley Embankment mehrfach erweitert, es trägt heute den gesamten überörtlichen Verkehr.
