Glebocarcinus ist eine Krabbengattung aus der Familie der Taschenkrebse (Cancridae) mit drei rezenten Arten.[1] Sie kommen von der Gezeitenzone bis zum Kontinentalhang in Tiefen zwischen 0 und 435 m im gemäßigten Nordpazifik und im tropischen Ostpazifik vor.[2]

Merkmale

Glebocarcinus wird bis zu 30 mm lang. Der Carapax ist rundlich. Der vordere und hintere Seitenrand sind undeutlich abgegrenzt. Die Regionen sind kaum abgegrenzt, haben keine prominenten Grübchen oder Borsten, gelegentlich große gekörnte Flecken. Der vordere Seitenrand ist mit neun Zähnen bewaffnet, die scharf und nach vorn gerichtet sind. Sie können Körnchen oder kleine Stacheln aufweisen. Zweiter und dritter sowie vierter und fünfter Zahn sind manchmal gepaart. Die Ränder des Carapax und die Pereiopoden sind mit Borsten besetzt, die häufig ihre Ränder und Oberflächen verschleiern.[2]
