Gordonopsis ist eine Gattung mariner Krabben mit acht Arten.[1] Sie bewohnen den Kontinentalhang in Tiefen zwischen 256 und 1362 m im westlichen und zentralen Indopazifik.[2]
Merkmale
Der Carapax von Gordonopsis wird bis zu 45 mm lang. Er ist nur mit Rostrum (mittiger Fortsatz vorn), einem einfachen Pseudorostrum (Dorn beidseits des Rostrums und nur wenig kürzer als dieses), subhepatischen Dornen und konischem Kiemenhöcker bewaffnet. Der hintere Seitenrand ist glatt. Die subhepatische Region hat einen dreieckigen Dorn. Das Grundglied des Augenstiels ist kurz, das Endglied und die Cornea sind länger und zylindrisch. Das letzte Schreitbein ist dünner als die drei vorderen, erreicht nicht den Merus des vorletzten Schreitbeins erreicht die Spitze des Rostrums und endet mit einer fast vollständigen Schere (Chela).[2]
