Guimps liegt am Fluss Trèfle, etwa 24 Kilometer südsüdöstlich von Cognac. Die Nachbargemeinden sind Saint-Eugène im Nordwesten und Norden, Barret im Nordosten und Osten, Montmérac im Osten und Süden, Saint-Ciers-Champagne im Südwesten sowie Brie-sous-Archiac im Westen.
