Der Buchstabe wird im Guaraní-Alphabet verwendet, um den nasalen stimmhaften velaren Frikativ (IPA: ɣ̃) darzustellen. Da Unicode keinen Codepunkt für das G̃ enthält, wird oft das Ĝ als Ersatz verwendet.
Darüber hinaus ist das G̃ auch im Alphabet des Munduruku in Verwendung.
