Halocene ist eine 2008 gegründete US-amerikanische Alternative-Rock-/Alternative-Metal-Band aus Phoenix, Arizona. Die Band wurde vor allem durch Coverversionen bekannter Songs populär und erreichte damit bei Streamingdiensten wie Spotify millionenfache Abrufzahlen.[1]

Geschichte

Halocene wurde 2008 gegründet.[2] 2011 erschien das erste Studioalbum, Can You Hear Us Now? Zudem begann die Gruppe, Zusammenstellungen ihrer Coverversionen unter dem Titel We’ve Got It Covered zu veröffentlichen, 2014 erschien We’ve Got It Covered Vol. 1, 2023 wurde die jüngste Veröffentlichung, We’ve Got It Covered Vol. 10 herausgebracht.[1] 2021 erschien zudem das Album Our Chemical Romance: MCR Tribute, 2023 erschien Bring Me to Life: Evanescence Tribute. Die Band setzt bewusst darauf, ihre Musik nicht über ein Label herauszubringen, sondern baute sich über Plattformen wie TikTok oder YouTube eine treue Fanbasis auf.[2] Auf YouTube hat die Gruppe knapp eine Million Follower.[3] Auf TikTok sind es etwa 1,7 Millionen Follower, insgesamt folgen über drei Millionen Menschen der Band auf verschiedenen Plattformen.[4]

Inzwischen tourt die Gruppe international, so 2025 auch in Europa.[5] Die Band spielte auch auf namhaften Festivals wie Full Force, Graspop Metal Meeting oder Download Festival.[6] Am 10. April 2026 erschien ein neues Studioalbum, When Love Dies.[1]
