Hunterston Terminal
Hunterston Terminal in North Ayrshire in Schottland war ein Hafen für den Umschlag von Eisenerz und Steinkohle in Fairlie am Firth of Clyde, der von Clydeport betrieben wurde, einem Unternehmen, das 2003 von der Peel Group übernommen wurde. Er liegt südwestlich von Fairlie.
Der Hafen hieß ursprünglich Hunterston Ore Terminal und wurde für den Umschlag von Eisenerz für das 1992 stillgelegte Stahlwerk Ravenscraig gebaut, das in Motherwell lag und British Steel gehörte. Er wurde 1979 fertig. Die bestehenden Anlagen am General Terminus Quay am Clyde in Glasgow waren für die immer größer werdenden Schiffe ungeeignet. Hunterston Terminal mit seinem 1,6 km langen Pier konnte moderne Schiffe jeder Größe be- und entladen. Er wurde 2016 geschlossen und das Gelände 2019 geräumt.
