Intesius ist eine Gattung der Krabben innerhalb der Familie Mathildellidae mit fünf Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln den Kontinentalhang in Tiefen zwischen 220 und 535 m in der gemäßigten Klimazone des Australasiens sowie im westlichen und zentralen Indopazifik.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 40 mm lang, nahezu glatt, lediglich leicht granuliert und spärlich beborstet. Die Stirn ist zweilappig und bezahnt. Der vordere Seitenrand trägt neben dem kleinen äußeren Augenzahn drei kurze spitze Zähne. Die beidseitige Leiste auf dem Endostom erreicht nicht das vordere Ende des Mundraums. Der Carpus der Scherenbeine ist am Innenrand mit einem Dorn bewehrt. Die Meri der Schreitbeine sind glatt oder allenfalls spärlich gekörnt. Das erste Gonopodium ist länger als das zweite.[2]
