Beschreibung
Der Name Kaleta bedeutet ins Deutsche übersetzt Lederbeutel bzw. Lederbeutelmacher oder Tasche.[1] Kaleta stammt vom Appellativ kaleta, altpolnisch kalita und mundartlich kalota, was mundartlich Geldbeutel bedeutet. Kalita wiederum stammt vom russischen kalyta,[2] sodass mehrere sprachliche Einflüsse auf die Entstehung des Namens und seine Bedeutung hindeuten. Ebenso das Wort chalita aus einer Turksprache.
Verbreitung
Neben Polen und Deutschland findet sich der Name auch in anderen europäischen Ländern, z. B. in der Slowakei und Tschechien. In Deutschland ist er eher selten anzutreffen.
