Koomaali ist mit Abu Milix eines der westlichsten Inselchen/Sandbänke des Zeila-Archipels in Somalia.

Geographie

Das flache, sandige Eiland ist Teil einer langgezogenen Sandbank, die sich von Ceel Qori aus nach Nordosten zieht. Abu Milix liegt weniger als einen Kilometer vor der Küste, während Koomaali etwas mehr als 4 Kilometer vor der Küste liegt und etwa 3 km nordwestlich von Abu Milix. Von dort wendet sich die Sandbank ganz nach Norden und zieht noch etwa 4 km weit in Richtung des Golf von Tadjoura. Etwa 3 km südöstlich liegt Mosheykh und in jeweils etwa 4–5 km Entfernung im Osten Sacadin und im Nordosten Aidat.[1]

Klima

Als Klima herrscht heißes Steppenklima mit Monsuneinfluss.
