Anriel Howard (* 6. Mai 1997 in Atlanta, Georgia) ist eine US-amerikanische Wrestlerin und ehemalige Basketballspielerin. Sie steht derzeit bei WWE unter Vertrag und tritt regelmäßig bei SmackDown auf. Zuvor war sie bei der Nachwuchs-Liga NXT zu sehen. Ihr größter Erfolg bei WWE war der Erhalt der WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, die sie mit Nia Jax als Teil der Irresistible Forces gewann.

Vor ihrer Wrestling-Karriere spielte Legend professionell Basketball für das Team der Seattle Storm, das in der WNBA antritt.

Privatleben

Anriel Howard wurde am 6. Mai 1997 in Atlanta, Georgia geboren. Sie besuchte die Westlake High School in South Fulton. Bereits in der High School spielte Legend Basketball. So belegte sie 2015 im HoopGurlz ranking von ESPN den 100. Platz, auf ihre Position Angreifer (engl. Forward) bezogen, belegte sie den 15. Platz.[3]

Legend ist mit Matrick Belton verlobt, der ebenfalls bei WWE als Trick Williams auftritt.[4] Die Hochzeit erfolgte im Juni 2026.[5]

Basketball-Karriere

Von 2015 bis 2018 spielte Legend für das Team ihres Colleges Texas A&M University, die Aggies, in der NCAA Division I im Frauenbasketball. In ihrer Zeit bei den Aggies war Legend die erste Spielerin in der Geschichte der Texas A&M University, die über 1.000 Rebounds erarbeitete. Legend gelangen 1.002 Rebounds.[6] In einem Spiel gegen das Frauen-Team der Mississippi State University während eines Turniers der NCAA Division I gelangen Legend 27 Rebounds in einem Spiel, was bis heute ein Rekord in der Geschichte des Turniers darstellt.[7] In ihrem ersten Jahr bei den Aggies wurde Legend als All-Freshman der Southeastern Conference ausgezeichnet.[8]

2018 bis 2019 spielte Legend für das Frauen-Team der Mississippi State University, die Bulldogs. Dort wurde sie 2019 sowohl von Trainern in der SEC, als auch von Vertretern der Associated Press (AP) als First Team All-SEC, SEC All-Tournament Team sowie der AP All-American Honorable Mention ausgezeichnet.[9]

Im Rahmen des WNBA Draft 2019 wurde Legend als 24. Pick von den Seattle Storm verpflichtet.[10] Nach drei Spielen wurde sie jedoch vorzeitig aus ihrem Vertrag entlassen.[11]

Wrestling-Karriere

WWE

NXT (2020–2023)

Legend unterschrieb im Dezember 2020 einen Vertrag mit WWE und wurde zunächst in der Nachwuchs-Liga NXT eingesetzt.[12] Vor NXT-Kameras gab sie ihr Debüt am 21. September 2021, als sie sich Franky Monet als Lash Legend vorstellte.[13] Ihre Talkshow Lashing Out with Lash Legend debütierte am 28. September.[14] Ihren ersten Kampf im Ring gewann sie am 7. Dezember (Ausstrahlung: 10. Dezember) bei 205 Live gegen Amari Miller.[15]

Im Februar 2022 wurden Legend und Amari Miller als Teilnehmer des Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic bekanntgegeben,[16] sie unterlagen jedoch in der ersten Runde Io Shirai und Kay Lee Ray.[17] Kurz darauf nahm Legend am NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament teil. Nach einem Sieg in der ersten Runde gegen Tatum Paxley,[18] schied Legend im Halbfinale gegen die spätere Siegerin Roxanne Perez aus.[19] Im August 2022 formte sie mit Jakara Jackson ein Tag Team. Am 8. November (Ausstrahlung: 11. November) verloren Jackson und Legend ihr Debüt vor WWE-Kameras gegen Ivy Nile und Tatum Paxley.[20] Am 28. Mai 2023 griffen Legend und Jackson zu Gunsten von Noam Dar in dessen Match gegen Dragon Lee ein. Dar stellte seine Gruppierung Meta-Four vor, dessen Teil Legend und Jackson wurden. Legend verlor einen Titelkampf um den NXT Women’s Championship gegen Lyra Valkyria,[21] sowie den Titelkampf bei Battleground um den vakanten NXT Women’s North American Championship.[22]

SmackDown (seit 2023)

Legend und Jackson forderten in ihrem Debütkampf für SmackDown am 11. Oktober die WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair und Jade Cargill heraus, unterlagen aber.[23] Jackson und Legend waren Teil des Fatal Four Way Tag Team Match bei Crown Jewel um die Tag Team Championships der Women’s Division, konnten aber erneut nicht gewinnen.[24] Legend bekam bei SmackDown vom 29. November die Gelegenheit sich für ein Turnier zu qualifizieren, um die erste Women’s United States Champion zu krönen, unterlag aber Michin.[25] Bei Evolution wurde Legend Zweitplatzierte in einer Battle Royal.[26] Am 7. November kehrte Legend zu SmackDown zurück und attackierte Alexa Bliss, was Nia Jax den Sieg über Bliss’ Partnerin Charlotte Flair ermöglichte.[27] Bei Survivor Series: WarGames traten Legend und Jax an der Seite von Becky Lynch, Asuka und Kairi Sane gegen AJ Lee, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, Rhea Ripley und IYO SKY an, verloren aber.[28] Als The Irresistible Forces gewannen Legend und Jax am 27. Februar 2026 bei SmackDown die Women’s Tag Team Championship von Rhea Ripley und Iyo Sky. Der Titel war gleichzeitig der erste in Legends Wrestling-Karriere.[29] Bei WrestleMania 42 gaben Jax und Legend die Titel an Brie Bella und Paige ab.[30]

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2025)

Im Rahmen einer partnerschaftlichen Zusammenarbeit zwischen Total Nonstop Action Wrestling und NXT, war es NXT-Wrestlern möglich bei TNA aufzutreten und umgekehrt. Legend und Jackson feierten ihr Debüt bei TNA am 14. März 2025 bei Sacrifice und konfrontierten dort Ash by Elegance und Heather by Elegance nach deren Titelgewinn des TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship.[31] Am 3. April gaben Jackson und Legend ihr Debüt in einem TNA-Ring, als man Dani Luna und Jody Threat besiegen konnte.[32] Bei Rebellion traten Jackson und Legend in einem Fatal Four Way Tag Team Match um die TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship an, unterlagen aber den Champions Ash by Elegance und Heather by Elegance.[33]
