Laura Nader (* 30. September 1930 in Winsted/Connecticut) ist eine US-amerikanische Ethnologin und Hochschullehrerin.^[1][2][3]

Laura Nader studierte Latin American Studies am Wells College (Aurora, New York) und legte 1952 dort ihre Bachelorprüfung ab. Sie setzte dann ihr Studium auf dem Gebiet der Ethnologie am Radcliffe College fort, wo sie 1961 bei Clyde Kluckhohn zum Ph.D. promovierte. Zwischen 1957 und 1967 führte sie mehrere ethnologische Feldforschungen in Mexiko im Bundesstaat Oaxaca durch, später im Libanon (1961) und in Marokko (1980). Seit 1960 ist sie als Hochschullehrerin an der University of California, Berkeley tätig und hat dort seither eine Professur für Ethnologie inne. Sie beschäftigt sich vor allem mit Rechtsethnologie und ethnischen Konflikten, dabei setzt sie sich für Recht und Gerechtigkeit ein.

1991 wurde Nader zum Mitglied der American Academy of Arts and Sciences gewählt.^[4]

Ihr jüngerer Bruder ist der in den USA sehr bekannte Verbraucheranwalt Ralph Nader (* 1934).
