Libina ist eine Gattung der Krabben aus der Familie Epialtidae mit zehn Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln die Gezeitenzone und den Schelf in Tiefen zwischen 1 und 124 m in der gemäßigten Klimazone des Nordatlantiks, im tropischen Atlantik, in der gemäßigten Klimazone an der Atlantikküste Südamerikas und im Indopazifik.[2]
Merkmale
Der Carapax ist bis zu 107 mm lang und kugelförmig. Er ist mit Höckern und Dornen bedeckt. Das Rostrum (mittiger Stirnfortsatz) ist einfach, an der Spitze manchmal gegabelt. Der Überaugenvorsprung ist vom Hinteraugendorn durch eine U-förmige Kerbe getrennt, der vordere Augenhöhlenwinkel ist quadratisch. Der vor der Augenhöhle gelegene (präorbitale) Dorn ist spitz, der hinter der Augenhöhle gelegene (postorbitale) Lappen quadratisch. Der Leberrand ist mit ein bis zwei Dornen bewehrt, der Kiemenrand mit drei oder mehr. Der Hinterrand des Carapax trägt einen Darmdorn. Die Sternoabdominalhöhle der Männchen ist tief und schmal, vorn durch eine Leiste auf dem vierten thorakalen Sterniten geschlossen und seitlich von Höckern flankiert. Das erste Gonopodium ist gegabelt.[2]
Systematik
Die Gattung wird in die Unterfamilie Pisinae eingeordnet, die Unterteilung der Epialtidae in Unterfamilien ist jedoch umstritten. Sie umfasst folgende Arten:[1]
