Maintirano ist eine Stadt an der Westküste von Madagaskar mit etwa 16.000 Einwohnern (2001). Sie ist die Hauptstadt der Region Melaky. Im Ort bzw. in dessen Nähe enden die Nationalstraßen RN 1b, RN 8a und RN 19. Die meisten Einwohner gehören der Volksgruppe der Sakalava an.
